Since assuming his role at World Trade Centre Toronto (WTC-T) in May 2016, Leigh has built a team that is focused on providing comprehensive international trade services and key global contacts and supporting trade development, international growth, digitization and scale-up for businesses throughout the Toronto region, Ontario and Canada.
Leigh has extensive experience developing and leading strategy and developing business models. Prior to his role at WTC-T, Leigh worked at Management Board Secretariat to help develop a 275-person internal consulting business called IT-Source, centralize private consultant procurement and reduce costs by $30 million. Much of Leigh’s career has been entrepreneurial, focused on growing new and emerging programs. This includes the role of Founder/ COO/CFO of a dot-com, Bee-Trade.com, President of Pulse Health Products Ltd and Managing Director of Newtown Sales Ltd, a company he founded with Canadian F1 racing legend Jacques Villeneuve.
Leigh holds recent Certificates in Strategic Management Analytics from Queen’s University School of Business and in Public Procurement Law and Practice, Purchasing/Acquisitions and Contracts Management, from Osgoode Hall Law School.
